Option Agreement to earn 51% interest

Status:

1,614 m core drill program completed

Target:

Gold and Silver

Ganarin is a low sulphidation epithermal gold-silver deposit located in southern Ecuador 65 km southwest of Cuenca. The Ganarin property is subject to option and joint venture agreements with Doubloon Exploration Corp. whereby, Nortec hasnortec2.jpg (44533 bytes) the option to acquire 51% interest in the Ganarin property. Ganarin property is situated in the prolific Ganarin Mineral Belt, near IMAGOLD Corporation's 3.4 million ounce Quimsacocha gold property and Channel Resources' El Mozo gold property.

Trenching with systematic channel sampling has been carried out. Four areas of interest were identified on the project: Chamana zone, Rio Minas zone, Chuscuyacu zone and Loma La Cruz zone.

The initial results suggest that the Ganarin property could potentially host several mineralized gold-silver shoots with bonanza grades. The Company is planning an extensive drill program.

Geological Survey of Finland carried out detailed field work in 1999 and 2004. The sulphide mineralization in Kaukua is particularly rich in platinum group metals and gold. Nortec has just completed a 7 hole drill program on the Kaukua Property.

The first year exploration program will consist of:

  • Compilation and interpretation of all geological, geophysical and drilling datanortec9.jpg (49655 bytes)

  • Geological mapping, geophysical (induced polarization) surveys, trenching, and

  • 1,000 metres of core drilling.

CVRD's (formerly INCO) large nickel-copper-cobalt mine at Voisey's Bay is located about 50 km to the southeast. The property consists of 100 contiguous claims, contained in two Exploration Licenses, covering 2,500 hectares. In March 2003 Nortec optioned the TL property from Vulcan Minerals of Saint John's, Newfoundland. Nortec can earn up to a 100% interest in the TL property, at its option, may earn a 51% interest by incurring exploration expenditures of $1.5 million by March 17, 2009.
